Art Consultant / Sales Position

About The Position Greenhouse Gallery of Fine Art is seeking a responsible, experienced person to fill the position of Art Consultant/Salesperson. This position will require a proficiency in sales techniques, and knowledge of art and artists. The position will emphasize “direct sales”, meaning developing client relationships via phone, developing referrals via phone and developing leads via the Internet and direct mail campaigns. There is also face-to-face contact with clients in the gallery. The majority of the consultant’s time will be spent engaging in the activities just listed. Other activities will include studying and memorizing artist biographical details and reading art materials to remain current with trends in the art industry. The consultant will report directly to the gallery sales director and will be expected to demonstrate a continuing proficiency in the gallery’s sales techniques, to demonstrate a continuing detailed knowledge of the gallery’s artists and to meet an average monthly sales quota.  Requirements and Qualifications The candidate should posses all of the following: • 3-5 Years of Verifiable Successful Sales experience (not necessarily in fine art sales) • An outgoing personality • An appreciation of Fine Art • A character of Honesty, Integrity and common sense. • A professional image and attitude. Compensation The position will pay a base salary as a draw against commission and a commission as a percentage of sales once the base salary is met.
